Take a Stand Against Puppy Mills and Backyard Breeders

Never buy a puppy online! When breeders offer to ship their pets, this should be a red flag: websites, like petstores, can mask the suffering, disease, malnutrition, and loneliness of puppy mills. Even the puppies themselves are prone to a variety of illnesses. Some die within days or weeks of purchase. By choosing not to buy your next pet or any pet supplies from Internet sites that sell live dogs, you are directly helping to end this cycle of cruelty.

Also avoid buying puppies or kittens from online classified ads - these ads often support backyard breeders, who are a major contributor to the pet overpopulation problem.

Sites to Avoid
...and to warn potential pet buyers never to support:

Many of these sites either encourage backyard breeding, or use a system which allows them to dodge puppy breeding regulations by giving their breeding dogs to "fosters," who provide a home for the breeding dog until it cannot be bred any longer. Do not be fooled by their websites, which mask the reality!

NEVER BUY A PET ONLINE. ALWAYS ENSURE YOU CAN SEE AN ANIMAL'S PARENTS BEFORE PURCHASE.
